Andrew remembers the day the crane fell over...

"Another thing that happened - and I saw it happen - was one day they were bringing a ship into Lyttelton rand they bought the ship in too close to the wharf. And the front of the ship actually was up over the wharf and hit the front leg of one of the big cranes and knocked the crane over. I was in my maths class at Lyttelton West. I wasn't paying attention in class. I was just looking out the window. Next thing I see the crane falling down."
